July 20 - Lance discusses Dennett
RET Philosophy Sunday - July 20, 2008, 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 a.m. (Arrive early for coffee and fellowship) - Pellissippi State Technical Community College, Goins Administration Building, Cafeteria Annex - CHILDREN'S PROGRAM - We will talk about "air," utilizing the book, "Air is All Around You." A short demonstration, followed by jumping on an air mattress, outside. Basic, but fun!
RET member, Michael Lance, will be the speaker. The title of his talk will be, “Daniel Dennett's Intuition Pumps.” Michael will discuss the philosophy of Daniel Dennett and how he uses metaphors to explain philosophical concepts or to 'pump' our intuition.
