March 18 - The Idea of Progress
Michael Lance will lead a discussion on, "The Idea of Progress."
Michael will cover the philosophical origins and current implications of this idea and will focus on its history and influence on various modern movements such as Communism, Fascism, Science & Technology, Darwinism and Atheism. He will also explain how Progress relates to the philosophy of the Rationalists of East Tennessee.
The program begins at 10:30 a.m. at Pellissippi State Technical Community College. Arrive early for coffee and fellowship.
