Camp Quest Counselor needs Home for Recuperation|
One of our counselors at Camp Quest is in the hospital. His name is Bill Messer and he came to us from Cincinnati. Bill became ill on Wednesday and was scheduled to have his gall bladder out this afternoon (Friday).
Aleta Ledendecker writes (see below) that Bill will need a local place to recuperate for about a week after he is released from the hospital (probably around Tuesday or Wednesday of next week).
Please contact Phil King (690-7687 or email@example.com) if you could share your home with Bill.
(please refer to Aleta's memo below ... )
We have been having a phenomenal camp. The group of campers is exceptionally intelligent and easy to work with.
So far we have had raves from the campers and no homesickness! That is really incredible since four of them had never been away from parents before. We are keeping them so busy with interesting activities that they don't have time to be homesick! We have flight school tonight (Provided by RETer, Lee Erikson) and they go flying tomorrow.
On another note, though, one of our counselors is in the hospital. His name is Bill Messer and he came to us from Cincinnati. Bill had surgery in February. He started feeling pretty bad Wednesday evening and another counselor (who is a doctor from Pennsylvania) took him into Blount Memorial Hospital. Bill was scheduled to have his gall bladder out this afternoon.
Because of his previous surgery, this isn't going to be an easy operation.
Bill will most likely be in the hospital for another 4 days. We are going to get his car back from Tremont to our house. The problem is that Bill will need to recuperate for about 7 days after leaving the hospital. Carl and I already have a full house with our daughter and granddaughter and another fellow coming in tomorrow and staying for two weeks for Montessori teacher training.
Is there anyone out there among the RET family who would be able to let Bill stay with them during his recuperation? It would really ease his mind to know that he has some place to stay.
Please let me know ASAP so we can make some kind of arrangements.
Bill is a very funny guy. The kids loved him and have really missed him.
