New community space for Knoxville? With the future of the Candy Factory in question, some community activists and organizations are looking for ideas for a community space for Knoxville. They're issuing an open invitation to join the discussion. Since we depend on free space for our meetings, this should be of interest.
On November 2 a group of about 25 people got together to discuss the beginnings of a community space in Knoxville. There was a brainstorm of what the space could have, community groups involved, where the space could be, etc. If you are at all interested in contributing YOUR ideas to a community space in Knoxville, please come to the next meeting:
Wendesday, November 17th, 7pm at the Candy Factory in Knoxville. Look for flyers posted in the doors and follow them to the correct room.
There's a meeting every other Wedenesday from now until the end of the year to discuss moving forward on creating a community space in knoxville. Help create a true community space by contributing your ideas, bringing your friends, and spreading the word!
For more information about how you can get involved, or a copy of the notes from last meeting, please contact efactivist@yahoo.com, abigailsinger@justice.org, or call 522-6527.
