Dan Barker Concert, Oct. 9
Rationalists of East Tennessee are proud to announce a visit and concert by Dan Barker, Public Relations Director at the Freedom From Religion Foundation. Dan is a former evangelical minister, now turned freethought activist. He is also a singer/songwriter, and he will share his musical talents with the Knoxville community Saturday, October 9, from 7:00 - 8:30 PM at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, 2931 Kingston Pike. The concert will feature Dan speaking, playing, and singing, and will include songs from his latest CD, "Beware of Dogma", as well as other works.

In addition to Dan's concert, RET will hold a pair of other events in his honor when he visits. There will be a potluck dinner at the home of Marsha Doyle, Friday evening at 7:00. And on Sunday at 10:30 AM at the Candy Factory, our Book Club will discuss Dan's "Losing Faith in Faith", a collection of many of his essays, including an account of his association with the evangelical movement, and his eventual move towards freethought. Dan will go to lunch with us afterward.

We hope to see you at all of these events!

Dale Haste
President, RET
