KNOX SOCIAL FORUM|
RET has been invited to participate in an upcoming meeting.
The meeting is for local individuals and groups around Knoxville, working and organizing on peace, race relations, environment, and other progressive issues, to come together, share ideas, table, network, learn from and inspire each other. It'd be nice if some of us attend so our issues are represented. Read on if you're interested.
For more info on the first KNOX SOCIAL FORUM organizing meeting:
Saturday, May 31, 1pm - 4pm
Canaan Baptist Church
1117 Beaman Lake Road, Knoxville, 37914
This will be the first meeting, where we will create a vision for, and begin organizing, the big fall meeting.
Roughly, the fall meeting will be a chance for local individuals and groups around Knoxville, working and organizing on peace, race relations, environment, and other progressive issues, to come together, share ideas, table, network, learn from and inspire each other. Or that's one vision, at least. The _actual_ vision for the fall meeting will be hammered out at this first meeting, mentioned above.
The meeting is open to all groups and individuals who are interested in networking or building a progressive coalition in the Knoxville area.
There isn't an official organization behind this, it's just a group of people who have come together to do this.
