Announcing Camp Quest|
RET is pleased to announce that Camp Quest of the Smoky Mountains is accepting camper applications for the summer of 2003. The camp, which will be held from June 1-8, is open to children ages 8 to 13 with junior counsellor positions available for 14 to 16-year-olds.
In addition to enjoying activities like nature walks, crafts, swimming, and campfires that are usually associated with summer camps, children attending Camp Quest will be exposed to critical thinking exercises including code breaking games and philosophical inquiry.
"Camp Quest gives parents an opportunity to send their kids to a camp that will enrich their children as human beings in addition to helping them to some summer fun," said Dave Buck, president of RET. "We're proud to serve the community by encouraging kids to really think about the world around them in intelligent ways."
RET holds a number of regular events (including philosophy discussions, roundtables, and the Skeptic Book Club), engages in community action and sponsors speakers. More information about the organization and about Camp Quest is available by phone at 865-539-3006 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
