RET welcomes Norm Allen to a small semi-formal banquet to be held on June 21 at 6:30 at the Raddison in Knoxville. Allen, who serves as director of African Americans for Humanism and is the editor of several reputable publications including African American Humanism: An Anthology and Free Inquiry, will speak on the topic "Humanism and the Civil Rights Movement."
"This is a great opportunity for RET to give back to the community by bringing a renowned speaker to Knoxville," said Dave Buck, president of RET. "We're proud to sponsor this program and look forward to a fun and thought-provoking evening."
Admission to the banquet is limited, and tickets must be reserved in advance. The cost is $36 per person.
RET holds a number of regular events (including philosophy discussions, roundtables, and the Skeptic Book Club), engages in community action and sponsors speakers.
