The following criteria apply to would-be campers at Camp Quest of the Smoky Mountains:
- Children age 8 - 13 are eligible to register as campers. Youths of 14 - 15 may register as Counselors in Training, and youths aged 16 - 17 may register as Jr. Assistant Counselors.
- The camper (and parent) must read and agree to the affirmation of humanism in order to verify that the philosophy of Camp Quest does not differ significantly from the philosophy the parent would instill in the child.
- Fee of $550 paid in full by June 1, 2008 (only $500 if paid by March 1, 2008). Note that of this fee, $100 constitutes a non-refundable deposit and must be submitted with the application. Additional siblings receive a $50 discount.
- Campers must be transported either to the camp or to the Knoxville airport, where staffers can arrange to pick up campers.
- Proof of a physical examination completed within one year of the camper's arrival date at camp must be submitted.
